Freespace Sensor Modules

 
Freespace® Sensor Modules integrate the Freespace MotionEngine, embedded on a microprocessor, together with off-the-shelf MEMS inertial sensors to offer customers a fully functional, ultra-compact, and ready-to-use module that is easy to integrate into in-air pointing and motion control products.

The Freespace Sensor Modules offer:

  • Turnkey Solution: An integrated motion-sensing hardware and software system, including Hillcrest's Freespace MotionEngine and MEMS inertial sensors, to reduce the complexity of system integration
  • Small Footprint: Small footprint to enable flexible design of OEM products with the lowest possible bill-of materials cost
  • Motion Interface: Well documented API to give developers access to motion data that interprets natural motions and translates these to precise motion information including cursor coordinates and motion tracking data
  • Six-axis Design: A complete six-axis motion control solution configuration that includes a combination of MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes
  • Advanced Motion Control: Flexibility to use cursor position and advanced motion data including linear acceleration, angular position, and angular velocity to enable creation of novel applications.
  • Mass Production Ready: The benefit of Hillcrest's sensor qualification and manufacturing solutions to ensure the product is mass production ready

Available Modules

FSM-HC4

The FSM-HC4 is a printed circuit assembly module that includes the Freespace MotionEngine and microprocessor together with MEMS inertial sensors in a complete six-axis motion control solution configuration. The FSM-HC4 includes a SPI bus on a ten pin connector that allows installation directly into prototypes and commercial products. 0.9" (L) x 0.9" (W) x 0.16" (H)
