The Nucleus FILE product architecture can
be shown in the following diagram:

Nucleus FILE is written entirely in C and
is comprised of a file management system and device driver
framework. Nucleus FILE supports the MS-DOS that is often
referred to as a FAT file system. ISO9660 file system
support is also available. Nucleus FILE device management
software supports drivers for a number of industry
standard devices such as IDE/ATA hard drives, Compact
Flash, SD/MMC cards, floppy disks, and SCSI devices.
PCMCIA and CDROM support also are available for IDE/ATA
and ATAPI compatible drives respectively. Other than
standard file systems capabilities, Nucleus FILE allows
multiple tasks to access the file system simultaneously by
requiring all tasks to register as users of the file
system.
Accelerated Technology provides
demonstration programs that exercise the primary functions
of the file system. With the demonstration program and a
complete set of documentation, building a system with
MS-DOS-compatible off-line storage facilities is simple
and straightforward.
